Become a Customer With BankID
Step by Step to Becoming a Customer With BankID
If you already have BankID and are above the age of 18, you can become a customer and start using Mobile and Online Banking right now.
You can order bank cards and open accounts with your Mobile and Online Bank. If you have not signed up for BankID with us, we recommend that you do so you get full use of our self-service functionality.
We recommend waiting to close your accounts and move your banking from your current bank, until you have received your new cards and set up BankID with us. That way, you'll continue to have access to your cards, mobile banking, and online banking throughout the transition.
We willl help you transfer your accounts, move your BSU account, and transfer your direct debit agreements. Don't forget to share your new account number with your employer and anyone else who makes payments to you.
What happens next?
- Your Mobile and Online Banking, and your new accounts will be available immediately.
- Your cards will be delivered by post service within about 7 business days (tip: For faster delivery, make sure your name is clearly visible on your mailbox).
- You can find your card PIN in the Mobile Banking App and your Online bank. The same PIN applies to all your cards.
- Transfers of funds from accounts in your previous bank take around 7 days.
- If you receive a paper invoice for a bill that should be covered by Direct Debit (AvtaleGiro), you have to pay the paper invoce. During the period between your old bank closing the agreement and us registering it again, this may occur.
- Existing e-invoices (eFaktura) will automatically appear in your Mobile and Online Banking.
Tips to simplify your bank switch
- Before your accounts are closed with your previous bank, you should make sure that there are funds in your new account. You can find your new account number in the mobile or online bank. This ensures continued access to your money during the transition between your old and new banks.
- If you receive a paper invoice for a bill that should be covered by a direct debit (AvtaleGiro), please pay it. During the period between your old bank cancelling the agreement and it being re-registered with us, it may appear as though you do not have an active direct debit. As a result, invoices may temporarily be sent as paper bills.
- You must inform your employer and NAV of your new account number.
- Payments that have already been scheduled in your previous bank must be re-registered in your new bank if the account they are linked to is closed before the payment is executed.
- Your bank cards cannot be used once the account they are linked to has been closed.
General information about switching banks
- Closing your account may result in the termination of bundled product packages, which can lead to less favorable terms for other services you may keep with your previous bank.
- If your accounts are subject to notice periods or binding agreements, you should consider waiting until these expire before closing them, as early termination may incur fees from your previous bank.
- If your account has a negative balance, for example due to credit or overdraft, the account cannot be closed until the balance has been settled.
- Deposit accounts for rent or similar purposes cannot be included in this transfer service.
- Accounts that are subject to liens, garnishments, or other restrictions cannot be included to the extent of those limitations.
- Archive functions in the online bank of your previous bank will no longer be available once your online banking agreement is terminated.
- If the account holder is a minor, guardian consent is required to authorise the transfer of funds.
