If you have parental responsibility you have to order BankID on the child’s behalf. From the age of 15, children can visit us and order BankID themselves.
The BankID is a simple and secure way to identify yourself and sign in online. It can also be useful for children and teenagers.
It can be helpful — and sometimes necessary — for young people to have BankID so they can do more things on their own. For example, it can come in handy when opening a bank account, buying cinema or bus tickets online, applying for student grants, logging in to Helsenorge, or applying for upper secondary school.
How to Set up BankID for Your Child
Those with parental responsibility can order BankID for children and young people between the ages of 12 and 15.
Once the adults have signed the agreement, we will send an SMS letting you know that BankID is ready to use.
For children from the age of 15, they can visit the bank in person with a Norwegian passport or Norwegian national ID card and get BankID themselves.
