Can I Lend My BankID to Others?
No, you cannot lend out your BankID, because BankID is your digital ID and signature.
This is really important to keep in mind, because instead of using a pen, paperwork, and your passport, you can use it to identify yourself and sign online.
Your BankID is you, which is why we’re so strict about who can use it. Just like passport control wouldn’t let you through if you showed someone else’s passport.
Since BankID can be used for important things like signing documents, taking out a mortgage on a home, accessing health records, managing funds, and a range of other services, it cannot be shared with anyone else.
If we discover that you’ve shared it, we will block your account and BankID for security reasons.
Unfortunately, this applies no matter the reason — whether you need help logging in or if you’ve used your spouse’s BankID to manage payments.
How Can I Give Others Access to My Bank Account?
You can easily share access to an account in the mobile app or online bank.
- In your account overview, select the account you want to share access to.
- In the mobile app: Tap the settings icon in the top right corner. In online banking: Select the Account settings tab.
- Then tap Share account access under the Account sharing section.
Finally, choose what level of access the account holder should have. You have three options:
- Account manager: This gives the person full access. Anything you can do with the account, they can do as well. They log in with their own BankID through their own online banking and can check the balance, pay bills, transfer money between accounts, set up direct debit payments (AvtaleGiro), and more.
- View and deposit access: This allows the person to view account activity and transfer money into the account, but they cannot move money out of it.
- Statement access: This gives the person access to view account statements only.
Please note: The person you share the account with must also be a customer with us and be able to log in to our mobile or online banking.

Public Websites
You can use BankID to log in and sign in to almost all public websites – with the highest level of security (Altinn, NAV, the Norwegian Tax Administration, helsenorge.no, municipalities, county authorities, etc.)
Insurance, Savings and Loans
The BankID is convenient because you no longer have to physically show up at the bank to take out insurance, open a savings account or sign loan documents. You can do everything from the comfort of your home.
Funds and Finance
You can use the BankID to buy and sell funds, and creating financing agreements.
Property
The BankID App is useful in bidding processes, signing leases, mortgages, etc.
Online Stores
You can use the BankID to verify payments in various online stores or log in to customer pages on websites.
Member Organizations
Some clubs and organizations have websites where the only valid tool to log in to certain pages, is the BankID. This way, only those who are actually members can access these pages.
Trade and Service
BankID is used to verify who you are, for example if you sell things on Finn.no. You can also confirm your identity in apps.
Post and Telecommunications
You can use BankID when logging in to your digital mailbox called Digipost. You can also report a change of address with BankID.
