We contribute in various ways to increasing knowledge about private finances and developments in business and society in general.
Inland Statistics
We are one of the founders and contributors to the knowledge database Inland Statistics. The website collects a number of different statistics and data for the Innlandet county, and presents it in a simple and easy-to-understand way.
Inland Statistics contain data on everything from business and population to education, climate and transport. The purpose of the website is to give everyone free access to good data and analysis from the region.
Surveys of expectations
We regularly carry out large surveys where we take the pulse of the financial expectations of both companies and private individuals in our market area. The surveys provide good insight into the economic development and future expectations.
We share and make the knowledge available in various forums, including in the media, at Inland Statistics and on our website (in Norwegian).
Business advice and support
Our business advisers understand local trade and industry and give customers reliable support in making important decisions. We have regular events for regional customers with knowledgeable speakers.
We are also one of the initiators and contributors to the annual conference Agenda Innlandet. The conference brings together hundreds of participants every year and is Innlandet's most important meeting place for business, politics, administration and academia.
Providing expert advice
We have established experts and spokespeople in several areas, and we always strive to share knowledge and advice through both the media and the Bank's own channels. Our private economist and chief economist help spread insights into, and an understanding of, topics like interest rate rises and price rises, saving, tax, consumption, debt, and macroeconomics.
Chief economist
Our chief economist Bjørn-Erik Orskaug closely monitors macroeconomic developments. He has previously worked for the Norwegian oil fund, among others, and has a good overview of regional, national and international conditions that affect the economy. He comments publicly on changes in the policy rate in connection with policy rate meetings at Norges Bank, inflation and other general factors.
Private economist
SpareBank 1 Østlandet’s private economist Elisabeth Landsverk shares good advice on personal finances in the media, podcasts and through the Bank's various information channels.
She addresses relevant topics about finances for most people and provides tips on, for example, savings, mortgage rates, tax and insurance.
Mobile economics teacher
In order to help shape conscious consumers, the Bank has partnered with economist Jesper Foss and his mobile training platform. The game-based platform using AVR technology was created in 2018 to educate students on personal finance. Students use tablets, and gameplay takes place in a virtual adult world.
