SpareBank 1 Østlandet wants to be the preferred financial institution and professional provider of credit to good business customers in all business sectors within our area of eastern Norway. We can also take part in the financing of projects in other geographic areas on behalf of customers with whom we have an established customer relationship.
Good credit ratings form the basis of the Bank's corporate social responsibility. The aim is to create value for the region of which the Bank is a part. With local knowledge and a close proximity to customers, the Bank's management makes assessments that are based on a long-term social commitment as well as economics and risk. Everyone who works with credit in the Bank must comply with the group's Code of Conduct and impartiality rules.
The Bank mainly gives loans to companies doing business in our market area in eastern Norway. We are not usually directly involved in lending outside of national borders. Considerable caution should be exercised in giving credit to companies that are part of unclear or complex proprietary structures that SpareBank 1 Østlandet does not find well-grounded, or to companies where the company structure makes assessment of the risk of engagement extremely difficult.
Mining, coal, oil and gas lie outside our business area.
